Fifth Grade Fundraising Initiative

This is an exciting year for our kids. We have already started our fundraising activities, however, a per family contribution of $50 per student will help cover the bulk of the costs. Funds will cover:

  • 5th Grade Picnic

  • 5th Grade T-shirts

  • 5th Grade Class Trip

  • Student Graduation Gifts

  • 5th Grade Class Gift to McKinley

  • Moving up Ceremony and Reception

Please fill out the form below and return to school or click the QR code and pay online by Friday DECEMBER 18th! If sending in an envelope please address the “5th Grade Committee” with your child’s name and teacher. We understand that not every family can contribute $50 and some may be able to do more, so please fill out the form below and contribute what works for your family. Together, we can ensure that ALL our kids have a great year. McKinley has H.E.A.R.T!

Every classroom needs the support of our parents. Whether it's a holiday party, coordinating a classroom idea to support a fellow classmate’s family or to celebrate a milestone for your classroom teacher, parents make it all happen!

All classroom parents will need volunteer clearances.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the teacher.

  • Communicate with other parents/guardians regarding classroom events/parties.

  • Help organize classroom events/parties.

  • As a Room Parent, we ask that you consider coordinating at least one Staff Appreciation event during the school year. These events may be organized independently or in collaboration with other your other room parents or room parent grade level team, and the PTO will provide guidance and budget information throughout the planning process.  We will send out the sing up for appreciation shortly after room parent selection.

Library Volunteers Needed!

The McKinley Library relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to help keep the library running smoothly. Volunteers help to check books in and out for our students, and assist with shelving as well.

If you'd like to volunteer your time in our library, or if you have questions about our library volunteer program, please reach out to our librarian, Ms. Strohecker, at LaurenStrohecker@abington.k12.pa.us. Please note that you must have your Abington volunteer clearances completed in order to volunteer with us. For more information, please visit https://www.abingtonsd.org/page/volunteers. Thank you!
